Limit News Intake
We all want to be informed but it is important that we balance our news and social media intake. According to an article, “the reports we are exposed to in the media have a real impact on our well-being. In one major US survey, exposure to the news was one of the most commonly reported sources of daily stress. Of people who reported high levels of stress, 40% mentioned watching reading or listening to the news as a major contributor to the stress in their lives. Stress caused by the news, as opposed to stress caused by your life, is unique in its ability to trigger a sense of hopelessness."
In place of watching the news, take a moment to share/re-watch your favorite all-time classic with your children! (Movie, Film, or TV Series)
Be gentle with yourself. Periods of quarantine and isolation impact your cognitive and emotional well-being. It’s OK if you have difficulty concentrating, low motivation, and are distracted… these symptoms are completely NORMAL! Go easy on yourself. Be realistic and the goals you set for yourself. Relax, breathe in....breathe out. It will be OK. One day at a time. You can do this.
